Rock 'n' Roll

Tämä lanka oli reilun vuoden marinoitunut ja odottanut sopivaa projektia. Kunnes sen eräänä iltana keksin. Olin juuri neulonut ystävälleni synttärilahjaksi kynsikkäät ja halusin ehdottomasti itselleni samanlaiset juuri tästä langasta.


This yarn had marinated and waited for a perfect project over a year until I knew one evening what to make out of this. I had just knitted fingerless mittens for a friend as a birthdaypresent so I wanted the same fingerless for myself out of this yarn.

Projekti ei kuitenkaan vaatinut kovinkaan suurta osuutta kyseisestä langasta, joten pystyin tekeään muutakin. Halusin ehdottomasti jonkinlaisen huivin. Ensin mietin Baktusta, mutta hylkäsin ajatuksen, kun en ollut varma mihin lanka riittäisi. Sitten aloitin neulomaan reikähuivia, mutta muutaman kerroksen jälkeen päädyin purkamaan ja virkkaamaan samanlaisen kaksinkertaisesta langasta. Totesin lankaa kuluvan paljon, joten purin ja virkkasin yksinkertaisesta langasta. No sekään ei näyttänyt hyvältä. Päädyin lopulta neulomaan, koska kynsikkäiden pinta oli ainaoikeinneuleena niin ihana. 


The fingerless didn't required the whole skein, so I had 50 grams left. I definitely wanted to have some kind of scarf. First I was thinking about Baktus, but came in second thoughts, becuase I wasn't sure if I had yarn enough. Then I started to knit some basic scarf with eyeholes, but after few rows I ripped it and ended up to crocheting the similar one with two-ply yarn. Well that required so much yarn that I ripped again and crocheted the same with only one-ply yarn. It didn't look good so I ripped again. The garter stitches on the fingerless looked so beautiful that I wanted to have same kind of surface on my scarf so I finally ended up with knitting.

Vihdoin ja viimein ties kuinka monen yrityksen jälkeen löysin juuri sen puikkokoon, jolla sain haluamaani jälkeä. Eli kahdellatoista ainaoikeaa. Sopivan ilmavaa. Koska silmä on tottunut katukuvassa noihin tuubeihin, halusin tästä sellaisen. Loin 24 silmukkaa ja  neuloin ainaoikeaa niin kauan kunnes lankaa riitti ja lopuksi silmukoin päädyt yhteen. Jos tuubin haluaa tiiviisti kaulan ympärille, saa sen kiedottua kolme kertaa, löysempänä kaksi kertaa kiedottu on juuri sopiva.


After zillion experiments I found the perfect needle size, which was 12 mm. Now the scarf looked just like I had imagined it, perfectly airy. Because I have seen tubes everyone I wanted to have one too. I knitted garter stitches up to whole yarn was used, the last row is made with kitchener stitches. If I want this tube to be tight around the neck, I wrap it three times, two times is perfect for a bit looser look.

Näistä tuli aivan täydelliset ja tämä lanka on just eikä melkein minua! Rock -henkeä, hentoa kimalletta ja lisäksi lanka koostuu lempiväreistäni: turkoosista ja punaisesta. Kaiken lisäksi nämä ovat uskomattoman pehmeitä ja kevyitä! Ehdottomasti tulevat olemaan uudet lempiasusteeni. 

This set is so perfect and the yarn is so made to me. A bit of rock'n'roll, a sight of sparkles and it combines my favorite colors: red and turquoise. And above of all; these are so incredible soft and light! They definitely are my new favorite accessories.
